|1997-1999 AirSIG (automobile engine special interest group)|
A long, long time ago, in a galaxy... um... ok, garage.... far, far away... um... well, attached to my house, I stumbled across a unique group of individuals while searching the internet for some information about putting a Subaru engine in an airplane. The group was moderated by the late Garfield Willis and was made up of some very talented people.
This group was very devoted to auto engines in general, but the Subaru seemed to get most of the attention because of it's natural ability to fit-in, literally, to the airplane design. Over the years they had some very informative conversation and a great collection of documents, photos and other neat things to help a person really think about what they were faced with and come up with solutions to those problems while attempting this feat.
I've created a, sort of, AirSIG-explorer by placing all these files on my web server including the archives of the conversations prior to Garfield leaving the group. Sorry, I don't have any information from the later AirSIG group that tried to make a go of it on Yahoo Groups. A few of the guys still hang out on the FlySoob list and they do a pretty good job of helping out whenever possible.
My recommendation is to enter the explorer, download the archives one at a time and read them. Then, using the explorer, find the files that are referenced in the conversations. I developed most of my engine installation based on the information contained in these files.
